ECOLOGICAL EDUCATION
Ecological education in Pasvik Nature Reserve aims to help people live in harmony with nature.
To reach our goals we use different educational methods: camps and field trips, seminars, debates, lectures, contests, presentations, festive events for children and adults in partnership with schools, universities, industrial companies and mass media.

Pasvik Reserve's vision is a system of environmental education in Pechenga District (Murmansk Region), which includes dissemination of information, ecological awareness and development of sustainable nature tourism.

          Ecological tourism
In Pasvik Nature Reserve we develop ecological tourism.

To show our visitors unique northern nature, historical and cultural heritage of the reserve we established a walking tour "Varlam Island – the Pearl of Pasvik".
In 1996 a Museum of the Norwegian ornithologist Hans Schaanning opened to the public on Varlam Island. The museum was built according to Hans Schaanning's original design, it is an exact copy of the house where the ornithologist lived in the early 1900s.

Every year we upgrade the route - we renovate stands, museum, birdwatching tower and ecological trail.

Guided tours to the nature reserve is the significant part of ecological education.
